So my Mongolia journey has finally begun!!! Yesterday all the volunteers met up in LA where we had a orientation that explained the basics about Peace Corps and had the opportunity to meet everyone. I am amazed how diverse our group is with unique personalities from all over the country and with amazingly different backgrounds. Everyone has been really nice so far though so I already believe that this group will be such a support during this experience.
This morning we left LA and the United States for a 12 hour journey to Seoul (where I a now). While the journey felt like such a long time, the opportunity to just be in the Seoul airport has been really interesting as its absolutey beautiful with wide open spaces and views of small mountains in the horizon.
I absolutely can't believe that this whole mongolian adventure is finally beginning having thought about the Peace Corps experience for years and being in Mongolia to begin. While I've been a bit nervous throughout the whole preparation process, being surrounded by people who have gone through the same thing is really encouraging and really reminds me how we are all capable to succeeding in this situation. Well, on to the next adventure...
